The Purification of the Heart by Abdulbary Yahya
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.
“Keep your heart healthy!” is thus touted almost everywhere. Changes in lifestyles are advocated in order to keep the heart in tip top shape. However, there is a more important aspect of caring for the heart that is largely neglected; its spiritual health, an aspect that will determine how we will fare after we are buried six feet under, regardless of how we die.
“…Beware, in the body there is a flesh; if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt, and behold, it is the heart.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
It would be more comprehensible and relatively easier to purify the heart if we could physically take it out, wash it and scrub away the black dots of sin, and put it back while still beating. But the matter of purifying the heart in order to make it sound has more to it than a simple act of purifying as we understand it.
Join us as we hold our 9th Seats of Scholars class where Shaykh Abdulbary Yahya shares with us the means to which we can attain this spiritual cleansing of the most important organ for our well being in this world and the hereafter.

Manners and Moral Values in Islam by Waleed Basyouni
“The best among the believers are those with the best manners.”
“The things that mainly cause people to enter Jannah (paradise) are revering Allaah and good manners. And those that mainly cause people to enter the fire are the mouth and private parts.”
Isn’t the one with more ‘ibaadah the best among believers?
Isn’t worshiping Allaah more enough to secure my place in Jannah?
Why is good manners so important that is ascertains our place in Jannah?
“I have only been sent (by Allaah) to complete the good manners.”
Do we really know how to observe good manners with Allaah ta’aalaa, Rasulullaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and all the people around us?
Mark your calendar and join us to learn more about the importance of good manners and immerse ourselves with beautiful and inspiring examples from the lives of the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), the companions and the righteous people, in shaa Allaah!
