Alhamdulillaah, I’ve finally gotten around to converting all my notes to PDF and posting them here. Be warned: These notes are, for the most part, completely unedited. They are being posted solely for reference purposes, and are not guaranteed whatsoever to help you on your exam. While no malicious attempt has been made to sabotage these notes, they may contain mistakes, inaccuracies, and may just be plain wrong in some places. They are most definitely incomplete.
Having said that, you’re more than welcome to use them as a study aid and/or to complete missing parts of your own notes. And, again, I do sincerely apologize for not posting these sooner.

Alhamdulillaah, the Seats of Scholars program (more information here) has begun! This week, we will be having lessons on Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday nights at 9PM online. The introductory topic is Usool ul-Hadeeth, or the Principles of Hadeeth. The lessons are based off of a course given by Yasir Qadhi.
First, you need to get setup to connect to the classes. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be ready!
Please review the information about the program there and join us tonight and the rest of the week!

Alhamdulillaah, tonight, through the efforts of numerous Muslims within the Columbus community (including some that are involved with Columbus Dawah), The Ohio State University Muslim Students’ Association has put together an outstanding lecture. The topic itself was presented by Br. Asif Salim. Alhamdulillaah, we were also able to record it, and we will be producing it and making it available as soon as possible.
In the meantime, a pre-release version is available for download right here from the Columbus Dawah website! It should be pointed out that this is a very rough edit & it is not meant for mass-distribution. Rather, it simply is a service to the those that wanted to attend, but for whatever reason couldn’t. The final release will be of a much-higher quality, in shaa Allaah, and will feature more content – this particular recording is just the presentation by Br. Asif itself.
The pre-release file can be downloaded from the following link:
As for the event itself, it turned out as a huge success by the tawfeeq of Allaah (SWT), alhamdulillaah. Early estimates indicate there were over 200 people in attendance, alhamdulillaah! Not bad for an event that was put together in under 3 weeks from the first thought!
Jazaakum Allaahu Khayran to everyone that put even the slightest offer towards this program. Alhamdulillaah.
Our first meeting will be this Sunday, February 12th, 2006, at 4PM, in shaa Allaah. The meeting will be held at Sunrise Academy.
The goal of this first meeting is to bring everyone on to the same page with regards to what needs to be done in order for our community to move forward. We will briefly present ideas regarding the current outstanding issues in our community, what those in attendance think are the highest priorities. We will then discuss some implementable ideas that we can start immediately (please see the forum for more details).
Everyone that is planning to come to the meeting should bring with them a notebook/notepad and a pen or pencil, because we will ask that you write down ideas that you have and submit them to us. In addition, everyone will need to keep a record of important contact information as well as the duties they have been assigned, should they be participating in a project or program.
In addition to this, I will be e-mailing out an agenda for our meeting, and I would like everyone to bring with them a printed copy, or at least written, so that we can all know where we are at with regards to the meeting as it progresses. This will help us to stay on track. Expect this e-mail within the next day or two, in shaa Allaah.
I want to say that, at this early stage, no every issue can be tackled. We are going to be aggressive, but realistic in our approach to our problems. We will start with the problems that are immediately addressable, and then as we gain momentum, we can pick up more issues as we go along. The most important issues will undoubtedly be related to the community as a whole, and with time we will begin addressing more-and-more specific problems (e.g., lack of participation at masjid X or Y).
Discussion regarding the upcoming meeting can be held on the forums here.

“…And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.” (Qur’an 65:2-3)
